For lucky Day 13, we have a less than lucky rosé.
Inovacion, a rosé of Malbec and Syrah from Argentina is on deck today. I tried this at the wine bar inside Whole Foods, because that’s my idea of a wild Friday night these days, having a glass of wine before I grocery shop.
Just don’t do this before going to that aisle with all the expensive, all-natural face creams and shit, because you’ll convince yourself it’s reasonable to spend $29.99 on some kind of collagen/sea kelp supplement, and it is not reasonable to do this.
Bottle: 3/5 – It’s a very grocery store label. Fine, but not super sophisticated or enticing.
Color: 3.5/5 – There’s a little more of a barbie pink bubble gum edge to this pink color.
Chugability: 2.5/5 – I didn’t love this. It had kind of an artificial Sweetart edge to it. At once cloying and a bit sour.
Price to Quality Ratio: 3.5/5 – This is about $10 for a liter bottle, so even though it’s not setting my world on fire, it’s a pretty solid value for the money. I’d drink it with a few ice cubes plunked in the glass at a party.
Overall Score: 12.5/20. For a liter bottle at a party-friendly price, you could do worse, but you could also do a lot better.
Goes With: Pasta salad, a hot summer day, and a chatting with a neighbor at a barbecue that you don’t hate, but you also wish would stop talking about her cats so much.
